Life As a Mrs.

Well, Michael and I have had our wedding and now I am Mrs Coleman.  So many people asked me while I was engaged if I thought things would be different after Michael and I got married.  I said I didn't think things would change; well, I was wrong.  I feel so connected to Michael.  He's my husband!  He's not my boyfriend, my significant other, this is the man who I am going to share my life with, give children to, grow old with, who I made a covenant with God to love and honor for all the days of my life.

The wedding was incredible.  It wasn't just that I felt pretty wearing my dress and getting dressed up, but all the love and emotions and fun times with EVERYONE who was there.  People cried, people got emotional, I just felt nothing but love and boy did it feel great.

We just got back from our honeymoon in the BEAUTIFUL Sedona!  I was SO happy being in Arizona and seeing all the beauty of Arizona.  It was the perfect honeymoon and I wouldn't have chosen any other place but Arizona.

I will continue to write blogs about my post adventures in the world of Gotham.  Right now, Michael and I are talking about what we would like to do for our 1 year anniversary (along with our friends and family who have August anniversaries as well, Monikka and Colt, Anna and Greg, and Georgiann and AC).

Much Respect for Wedding Planners

Seriously, I truly have a lot of respect for wedding planners.  Planning a wedding is A LOT of work, time, money, energy.  I have to be honest, the past 2 weeks I have felt a lot of stress with the wedding getting closer.  This is why I am VERY thankful for my wedding planner and all my friends and family who have been supporting me.  Michael, Greg, Anna and I met my day of wedding coordinator, Jessica, yesterday and she is FABULOUS!  She is detailed oriented and gave good suggestions on making the wedding day flow smoothly.

It has been a journey being an engaged woman.  I used to watch Four Weddings and think "I want to renew my vows and have another wedding."  Now, all I can say is "No thank you."  I wouldn't mind taking another honeymoon (cause I sure would love to go to Arizona again :-) ) but all the planning and little things, I just don't want to do that again.  Once is enough.

Considering the stress, it is a positive stress at least.  I've been so blessed to have wonderful friends and family support me during the past 2 weeks (shut, throughout the whole engagement).

It's times like these I miss my cats.  I love my babies, Paris and Prince.  I would have loved to have them in the wedding (LOL they wouldn't like that at all), but they would definitely be there to help me with my DIY stuff and give me love and kisses (and lap sits and all that good stuff my babies do).

Before I know it I will be a married woman (even though I already feel married to Michael LOL).

43 days and counting

It has been a while since I've posted a blog.  I have to say planning a wedding is almost like having a part-time job.  There is SO much to do.  For the past month or two, it has been the little things such as decorations, aisle runners, tulle, jewelry, gifts, lights, snacks, trying to remember all of that stuff is almost more stressful than the big stuff (caterer, florist, photographer, etc.)

I have to admit there has been a couple of times since Michael and I have become engaged that I've mentioned eloping.  When I've mentioned it, Michael will look at me and ask "Do you really want to do that?"  I couldn't.  This is going to be one of the best days of my life and I couldn't imagine not celebrating with the people we love and care about.  It wouldn't be the same.  So I say it is worth it (plus, look how fast time has moved).

The most exciting thing that has happened in the past couple of months was my grandpa's RSVP.  I was exhilarated when I found out my grandpa was coming all the way from New York.  How often does a granddaughter get to have her 95 year old grandfather attend her wedding.  Now that is a dream come true :-)

I absolutely LOVE my wedding hair stylist.  I had my trial a couple of weeks ago and when she styled my hair the way I'm going to wear it for the wedding and put the veil and accessories on, I became so emotional.  Goosebumps were running through me.  All the people at the salon were congratulating me and telling me how nice my hair looked.  I had to hug my stylist.  She is a beautiful person with a big heart and an aura of positivism.  Her energy is contagious and will be a great way to start off my wedding day :-)

I have to say I have the best bridesmaids in the world.  Kim, Julie, Monikka and Anna, not only do I love all of you very much, but all of you are so beautiful, inside and out.  I truly feel like I've chosen the best bridal party and I am honored to have you as my Star VIPs at my wedding! (cause that's what they are)

Wedding Vows

Michael and I decided to write our own vows.  I have been thinking about what to write for the past couple of weeks and then I figured to myself, just keep it real.  Don't think about all kinds of different stuff, just write how you feel.  I've been watching Four Weddings all morning, listening to couples exchange vows.  Then words started flowing through my mind and I got a pen and paper and wrote them down.  Now I have my vows written.  They're me.  It shows who I am and expresses how I feel about my baby.  I'm going to show them to my pastor before I finalize them and recite them at the wedding.

I am looking forward to getting married.  The wedding is less than 3 months away.  Before we know it I will be Mrs. Coleman :-)

Thank You! Thank You!

I received a generous donation from White Smile Central! They sent 2 at home teeth whitening kits for Michael and I so we can have pearly whites for the wedding! I am so honored that they were so generous! It makes me so grateful to see companies do good things in the community. If I ever have my own agency I am going to remember kind acts like this!

This week has been wonderful! I received a wedding gift from my father today. I am in awe with his kindness and generosity. It just makes me so happy to have my dad in support of my marriage. I'm just so grateful. So happy to see love and support from my family.

I'm just really touched. I have been getting so much love from friends and family during my engagement. I just want to say I am DEEPLY grateful for everyone and I love all of you for supporting me during this exciting time in my life!
